Hi Cuppy

One of the areas that we have all been collecting has been the DJ Remix Service areas

Naturally one of the benefits of the forum is the sharing of the members

SO naturally it would be nice for some shares of material

I always find it amazing when someone is asking for an entire collection on their first post. Collectively we probably have most of this series, but I don't think anyone is going to going to drop everything to fill your request un-less you have a few goodies of your own for us to look at.

Don't have any to share, lost all that I had when computer crashed, didn't have it backed up. Not a DJ just an avid collector of remixes and remix services. Trying to collect them all. Just listen to them at home or in the car. Def not trying to benefit from anyones help or generosity. Just like remixes I guess. Like I said don't have anything to contribute, used to have alot now I have nothing. Not looking for people to drop everything and fill my request. If they do great if not I understand. Always been fascinated with remixes and remix services.

I know this is an old post but, I feel the need to share this quirk about me. (Not about Cuppy)

Music is my life. I live it I breath it. I made lots of money from it. LOL

Call me crazy, but I have 2 (TWO) back up drives that mirror my Music drive.
That means I have 3 drives that contain all the digital music I'v been collecting for 10 years now.

Drives are cheap! Compared to what you will lose if it dies, and they do.
Drives are huge! I'm in the prosess of upgrading my digital music to better bit rates because in the beginning low bit rates meant more space.

I am now considering a server for my music. It's really only a dedicated set of drives networked to my PC for backup and storage. All ya need is a router...

So, the my drive crashed thing don't fly with me. If your like me and like the people on this blog, (Not saying You should be as geeky as me, But You should!)
You must, must, MUST have at least one backup drive. I am crazy.. I have 2.

I now have 3 external hard drives myself for the simple fact it's very smart to have ur music backed up.

In the market myself for a new drive to consolidate all the small ones I have and have, and an additional back up.

Maybe it's just me but in my opinion keeping the majority your music on a lab-top or PC that you use regularly for other stuff is  asking for trouble somewhere in the future.

4 Gigs?  You must be mistaken.  I have (3) 2 terabyte drives. A terabyte is roughly a 1000 gigabytes and it's 2/3rds full.
Are you sure you don't have a 40 or 400 gig drive?

BTW. Lesson learned the hard way. I don't save anything on the PC drive. It is for Windows only. All my data is on external drives.

The advantages to external drives are multi fold... New PC, No Prob... just plug in your external drive and everything you value it right there. No need to transfer files.
Unplug it and take it to a friends house.... I've done that many times to share music with other DJ friends.
Plug them into an old laptop and let it transfer/copy the drive. Leaving your PC free so you can stream porn without glitches.
Heat! is a drives enemy. External drives stay cool...

I should note that I use Firewire not USB. I find it is faster for external drives.
I'm contemplating a srever because it backs it's self up. You don't have to take the time to/remember to do it.
